It appears that Spike Lee is pushing his latest contribution to worsening race relations in America, a mockumentary about a hypothetical modern-day Confederacy founded after a Southern victory in the Civil War.
Having Spike Lee produce a film about a hypothetical Confederate government is about like having the Klan and the Aryan Nation produce a film about a hypothetical America in which black people are the dominant cultural and political group.
The difference, of course, is that if the latter was shown on so much as a single screen in the US, the rioting would last past Christmas. White Southerners, on the other hand, are expected to suck it up and say "Thank you sir, may I have another?" when they're demonized onscreen by a race-baiting, factually-challenged bigot.
(Perhaps Lee should stick closer to home and make a documentary about why, for instance, notoriously liberal California and New York have the two most racially segregated public scool systems in the U.S., while not a single former Confederate state makes the top 5...)
